CANTONAL MUSEUMS

Culture for all, in all its diversity and originality. That is what the cantonal museums of the Valais invite you to discover. From the palaeontology showcases of the Sion Natural His-tory Museum to the collections of weapons and uniforms of the Saint-Maurice Military His-tory Museum, not forgetting the works of artists related to Valais on show at the Fine Arts Museum, your sunless days (of which there are few in Valais …) will be well filled.

LOCAL MUSEUMS

There are no less than 80 local museums scattered around Valais. These museums that are intended to highlight the heritage of the individual municipalities aim to provide quality. They are no longer limited to displaying a few old tools.
Among the most interesting of these local museums, we would mention that of Saint-Gingolph that features navigation on Lake Geneva, Lourtier and its history of the glaciers, St. Niklaus and its Mountain Guides Museum, the Grand St. Bernard and the Hospice Mu-seum (the highest and oldest museum in Valais) and the Valais Vine and Wine Museum in Villa Sierre castle.
