THE “PETITE ARVINE” WILL GROW

The vineyard is one of the many natural riches of the Valais. Its wine, which is generally consumed locally, reveals some treasures.
By its abundant sunshine, the Valais enjoys a dry climate particularly well-suited to vine growing. The absence of fog combined with the beneficial effects of the foehn makes for the rapid ripening of the vine. The downside, however, is that the shortage of water must be mitigated by the proper irrigation of the soil. Valais is the region of Switzerland which has the greatest surface under vines. It alone accounts for nearly 40% of the entire Swiss production.
